Get to know Emilie…

Hello, I’m Emilie LeLaCheur, and I’m excited to embark on this healing journey with you. I’ve always believed in the power of faith, forgiveness, prayer, and deep connections with others, and that belief has shaped my journey as a counselor.

I hold a degree in Christian Counseling from New Hope Christian College in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, and later earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Christian University (now Bushnell University). Currently, I’m on the path to achieving my doctoral degree at Drake University, where I continue to expand my knowledge and expertise in the field. My research is exploring the experiences of parents of an adolescent who have navigated eating disorder treatment out-of-state.

My journey as a counselor has taken me through diverse and enriching experiences. I’ve worked in a residential setting for eating disorders, where I’ve witnessed the incredible strength of individuals on their path to recovery. My time working in juvenile detention allowed me to provide individual and family therapy to youth facing unique challenges, and I’ve had the privilege of working with homeless and traumatized youth, helping them to find hope and healing amid adversity.

Growing up and serving in church ministry, I have a unique understanding of the challenges of a life in ministry. I’m passionate about providing a safe, confidential space for individuals in ministry to process their challenges, finding healing, restoration, and strength to continue in their important work.

I am a lifelong learner. In addition to pursuing my Ph.D., I love attending conferences, reading, journaling, listening to podcasts, and connecting with others from all walks of life to learn from their experiences.

Outside of my counseling practice, I share my life with my wonderful husband and two amazing kids. We are active in our church and are blessed to spend a lot of time with extended family.

I’m here to walk with you on your journey toward healing, faith, and stronger relationships. Together, we’ll find victory in overcoming challenges and achieving your personal goals. Let’s start this journey together.
